Stan and Ollie

I snapped a photo of our Easter Island Heads that we've named Stan and Ollie, after Laurel and Hardy  an old Hollywood team that were known for wearing bowler hats and doing slapstick comedy. The tall one is Ollie and the shorter is Stan and the recent snowfall provided them with bowler style hats (well sort of.....)

Beaded Wire Teardrop Stud Earrings

I made these beaded wire teardrop stud earrings awhile ago and finally got around to taking a photo.  I tend to make earrings that have open hoops and decided to make studs for a change.  These earrings are made with copper wire and Czech seed beads that have a sheen and in warm muted shades of copper, gold, green and red - lovely earthy colours, with a drop swirl accent.  I'll be taking more photos and posting them to my website at https://thewingthing.my-online.store/

Butterfly Quote

"Happiness is a butterfly, which when persued, is always just beyond your grasp, but which, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you." Nathaniel Hawthorne I listed these pretty butterfly earrings today.  They feature honey yellow jade beads, gold plated pewter butterfly charms and 14K gold filled wire.  You can check them out here:

Vintage Vera Neumann Scarf

In addition to being practical, scarves also add flair and colour to an outfit, making them a multipurpose accessory.  Additionally, there are numerous methods using a stylish scarf to change the way you look. You can knot them in a ponytail, wear them as a belt, wrap them over your neck, or wear them as a top. There are so many styling techniques to explore online. This is a vintage 1970s skinny scarf by Vera Neumann. For more details, I have listed it in my Etsy Store.  Take a look.

Monarch Butterflies Visiting My Garden

I've had a few visits from Monarchs lately but this time I had my phone in my pocket so I got to take a photo of two travelling together and getting some nectar from my coneflowers which they need for their migration.  The ones that we are seeing now and heading south are one generation.  Several generations later these amazing beauties make their way back to their breeding sites.

Dragonfly Earrings

Inspired by the dragonflies zooming around my yard this summer, I made these earrings today with copper wire and I'll soon be photographing and listing them in my Etsy Shop.

Simple Handmade Crosses

I've made a number of crosses with copper wire and intend on making some earrings with them.  I'm thinking asymmetrical earrings.  At the moment I can't decide whether to make ear wires or posts.  Perhaps I'll do both.

Consistently Inconsistent

As Jonathan Swift would say: There is nothing constant in this world but inconsistency. Yep, I'm inconsistent with my blog entries.....In the meantime.....these are earrings that I was working on the other day and will soon be listing in my Etsy shop . Made with green iridescent Czech seed beads and copper wire, they are fun, lightweight, earthy summer time earrings.
