Little Bluff Conservation - Driftwood Teepee

Last Friday TP and I decided to take advantage of these exceptionally warm September days and packed our folding chairs into the car and drove off to Little Bluff.  We had the pebble beach to ourselves and it was fantastic.  And. to top if off, someone built these wonderful teepee sculptures out of driftwood on the beach ( I don't know if it was someone from the conservation authority or some really energetic person).  Whatever the case may be, I like it.  We had so much rain and stormy weather in the early summer that the beach must have been littered with driftwood and this is a great way to clean it up.

Pink and Orange Colour Combination

It's probably not often thought of as a colour combination that works, but I absolutely love the colour combination of pink and orange.  I think it's a stunning combination, a bit bold, cheerful, reminds me of summer, a mood booster - and colour does affect your mood.  If you mixed the two colours together you would get pink.....and I love pink too.  I look to nature to find colour pallettes to work with and sometimes I just have to open my back door.  These are the fall berries of Euonymus fortunei.  A happy bit of colour in my fall garden.

Interesting Moss Growing In My Garden

I like an interesting garden, and formal in design doesn't appeal to me.  So, I was excited to discover this unusual type of moss (to me) growing bedside my patio along with my creeping thyme.  One little patch reminds me of very fine broccoli sprouts and the other a juniper ground cover.  It's happily growing and adds a little bit interest to my garden which I enjoy.
