Disney did some neat things with milkweed seeds in his animated film “Fantasia”, using Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker Suite” as the theme music for that particular segment.  If you’ve ever seen it, you may remember the ballerinas in their white skirts.  Extending the metaphor to this picture, it appears that a member of the dance company has decided to go solo, no doubt on her way to becoming a prima ballerina.
