"Mellow Marsh Moment" Fine Art Print by Tarmo Peters

Mellow Marsh Moment Print

When you’re hiking for miles in dense bush with photo gear and constantly tripping over the millions of exposed tree roots along the narrow path and your mental state isn’t helping because the brain is still mulling the disappointment of the main attraction to this particular Ontario provincial park, it is a great relief to find an open spot where you can actually use the camera for its intended purpose.  That purpose is in contrast to how this guy, with his wild imagination, thought it might be necessary to use it, i.e. attached to the tripod and forming a lightly studded mace, with which one would then bludgeon into submission the black bears that posted warning notices referred to.
Happy to report that the equipment survived and that no bears were hurt in the creation of this image.

Continuing the hike meant that the trail plunged once again into the dense bush and the only focussing being done for the next kilometre or so was on maintaining an upright condition.

Arriving at a small lake, the remnants of an old log cabin were discovered.  Being only a few rotting, moss-covered timbers, attention was then turned towards the lake to listen to the whispering pines.  They said “Go home.  It’s boring here.  We would leave if we hadn’t put down roots.”

We took their advice.
