Singled Out - color
The color version of Patti's "Singled Out" picture tells a rather different story from the B/W one (click here). Where that one set up a strong contrast by symbolically juxtaposing the "good" tree against the "evil" forest (or whatever else you would like to read into it), the color approach is more suggestive of the harmony of nature and the comfort inherent in a warm summer's day. Here the brightly lit tree extols the potential of all trees in their environment rather than railing against the cruel and low-brow instincts of the "woods".
