Cattail Grunge
Cattails and bulrushes are not the same thing, in case you were
wondering. It was nice to learn that fact after way too many years
of ignorance and it’s one of the major benefits of spending time
online researching photographic subject matter. Oh, and cattails
are edible! It seems enough people know this fact that recipes are
posted on some related web sites (see below).
As this image was nearing completion, the torso and head of a man appeared. It was a rear three-quarter view, with him looking at the water and it was a by-product of some of the techniques used to create the “grunge”. But he had to go because once “seen”, he could no longer be “not seen”, i.e. he refused to play nice and disappear into the background. He’s gone now, for the most part, using other techniques. But it seems like he wants to re-assert his right to exist and be free. This being a “benevolent” dictatorship, those rights are denied. Should he succeed, sterner measures will be employed.
