Fashion Tips (or Golden Rules to Remember):
Remember that face shape is important when choosing your jewelry. Face shapes are grouped as oval, rectangle (oblong), round, heart and square. To determine your face shape, pull your hair back off your face with a headband or pony tail. Now stand back and look in the mirror and look at your features closely....and if you still have a problem deciding what face shape you have, go to Eyebrowz.com. This site has it all laid out for you and they make it easy.
Oval - an oval face shape can wear any style. A necklace looks good, but choker are particularly flattering. For earrings, round, button or hoops look good. Triangular shape earrings are very flattering and dangling earrings good too if they are not too long. Avoid earrings that are too long.
Rectangle (Oblong) - the choker is a good option especially if you have a long neck length. Or, 16" or 18" length necklace that ends in a u shape to flatter the face. A long, rectangular face should stay away from long dangling earrings and instead choose smaller studs with drama - such as bold colors. Triangular shapes are flattering to heart shaped faces as the wide base contracts the narrow chin.
Round
– A longer or T-style necklace complements a round face by giving the illusion of length to elongate the look of your face. A necklace that has a focal just above the bust line will have the same effect. A round face can wear just about any earring but elongated styles look best. Earrings that are long and narrow will give length to your face. Square or oblong shapes work well too. Avoid small stud earrings and hoops.Heart Shape - chokers look best because they soften the sharp angle of the chin – or a longer necklace wrapped around 2-3 times works well. Heart shapes faces are complemented by fan or teardrop shapes because they are wider at the bottom which helps to balance out a narrow chin. Avoid shapes that are long and narrow at the bottom.
Square - A square face is softened with necklace designs that have drape, curvy or waterfall appearance to soften the jawline. A simple strand of pearls will work too. Drop earrings create the look of length and round shapes or hoops will soften square faces. Avoid earrings that are angular i.e. large square shaped earrings.
Remember when Gift Giving - When buying jewelry as a gift, always remember the recipients style. That way you'll be sure to please.
